Since childhood I've loved making things, and one day I realised that if Pollock could be an artist, so could I.
My partner is also an artist and sculptor, and we have two small children- a boy and a girl.

I don't like to categorize myself by specializing; I believe in the ideal of the "Renaissance Man" (or Woman!) who is equally educated in every field that they choose to explore.

There are so many exciting media out there that I can't settle with just one. I get bored easily...

I am self-taught, as much as anyone with a library can be.

Once, I had a formal art lesson, but after looking at the work of the other students there, it struck me that their work all looked exactly and disturbingly the same, and I ran away.

I am drawn to beauty in every form, and try to make my work beautiful, whether in the sound of words, the form and colour of pencil and paint, or the structure and drape of costume.

I think that it's sometimes too easy to be shocking and famous, without artistic merit. I would rather attempt to find something pleasing and truthful, than settle for popular mediocrity through pickling dead sharks.

My partner and I have just bought a little house, way out in a tiny country NSW town....
Consequently my painting is on hold for a while, so that the canvases can dry for packing, and the eventual move in August.
I'm horribly excited. Since childhood I have lived in rented houses and I can't wait to live in a home that doesn't have ugly paintwork, uglier carpet or the lingering smell of somebody else's Scotch terrier.
I will still upload any new sketches etc. but once we move, the internet may not be connected for a few weeks so if I vanish from the face of the earth, it is only temporary.

Hey Julia! Thanks for faving "Bird Eggs" :aww: This was the closest related emoticon I could find:  ...perhaps not entirely appropriate, lol.

Hey no problem....:) the emoticon's close enough. They don't always have to be appropriate anyway- most people seem to pick the most unrelated emote for their comments, in the hope that they will come across as deep and obscure lol...:sarcasticclap:
Not that I've ever been guilty of that....:toaster:
